Preferred Vendor Partnership Emerging Trend In Analytical Development
Early 1990 there remained only limited contract research organizations (CROs) committed to serving the pharmaceutical industry. Several of the laboratories commenced either during or after the environmental ï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Æ’??boomï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Æ’?ï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ of the 1970s linked predominantly to environmental testing. Due to the decline in government capital of environmental monitoring these laboratories started looking for new markets and customers. From the early to mid-1990s new CROs began to emerge which focused in pharmaceutical analytical testing, predominantly for clinical and other biological samples with the fast expanding LC/MS technology. These CROs/laboratories have increased in number and some have expanded to sizes which rival the innovator pharmaceutical industries today e.g. Covance, Wuxi App Tec. CROs/Lab have Strategic ï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Æ’??Preferred Vendor Partnershipï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Æ’?ï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ with large and small pharmaceuticals expanding multinational sites globally. Number of supposed ï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Æ’??boutiqueï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Æ’?ï¾Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ laboratories with specialties ranging such as extractable/leachable testing, inorganic analysis, and analysis of clinical/biological samples by LC/MS have made strategic partnership in analytical development.
