In the recent years reshoring of electronics manufacturing across medical device and other Industries has much been spoken about. This is predominantly due to reason that western companies now having realized the diminishing benefits that Asian manufacturing hubs like China and Taiwan had been offering for the past two decades. Rising Chinese labor cost is the major driver as the wage rates in China have more than doubled since 2000 and are further expected to increase by 10% in 2014, as per Bank of America Corp. All complex electronic products utilize a printed circuit board (PCB). As a practice, Medical Device manufacturers have been offshoring Integrated PCB manufacturing or PCB assembly to the global EMS providers with facilities in Asian markets However, with the deterring benefits of manufacturing in Asia now coming to light, large and mid size manufacturers are looking at reshoring manufacturing operations. Midsize, private US manufacturers like Zentech, has been successful in re-shoring manufacturing operations and improving its business growth.
