BOMs, or bill of materials is a record of all the materials required and their respective quantities to manufacture a product. Bill of materials contains list of raw materials, equipments and their parts, resources, components and more in the required quantities.

A product's assembly labor may also be included in the list. It serves as a master structure for all parties engaged in the production process and keeps everyone on the same page.

Two main types of BOMs are engineering bill of materials and manufacturing bill of materials.
