VoLTE - Breakthrough in Assuring QoS and Cost Savings in Mobility to Enterprises

Mobile operators currently offer piecemeal SLAs with respect to assuring Network Strength the reason being the unpredictable quantity of traffic handled by mobile towers owing to users moving in and out of a tower`s area of coverage. Current SLAs though, answer only the fundamental necessities of a Network Connection like Service Availability whose performance indicator is no key differentiator between operators. Performance critical SLAs like voice quality are not assured. With the advent of VoLTE, SLAs for voice quality will be assured as voice will now be transmitted as IP packets over the data circuit and not voice circuit. This leads to high quality for voice signals and a key differentiator between operators. Moreover such QoS levels from operators will be a major driver of mobility incorporation under the Unified Communication umbrella.
