In recent years, two interesting trends are panning out in the Pulp and OCC markets respectively. Pulp market has witnessed an increase in demand in the past 4 years, but the supply has been increasing at a faster rate than demand. And owing to this trend, there is a belief that Pulp market may witness a supply glut by the year 2020.
On the other hand, demand for OCC has been slowing down in the corresponding period, but supply is slowing at a faster rate than demand – an exact opposite trend to that of Pulp. And owing to this trend, there is a belief that OCC market may witness a severe supply crunch by the year 2020.
Should procurement worry about the impending supply crunch of OCC?
