    Electronic direct marketing (e-Direct marketing) is a service that is used by marketers to communicate the desired message to a potential or existing customer by using electronic channels. This message is communicated with an aim of new customer acquisition or to convince existing customers to purchase something immediately.

    Although e-Direct marketing has been in practice for many years, it has not evolved enough to replace the traditional direct marketing. However, with the latest innovations in the technology space, e-Direct marketing is poised to grow rapidly and drive marketers towards replacing their direct marketing needs with e-direct marketing strategies. Traditionally, e-Direct marketing was synonymous with email marketing, and today it encompasses a wider portfolio of services that include email marketing, mobile marketing, interactive social media, short message service (SMS), search marketing, auto phone marketing, online sales, and Analytics. 
     
  3. Recommendation 
    With the rapid rise in the number of technology-driven customers around the globe, it is imperative for marketers to leverage technology in effectively reaching the end consumer. Companies across industries have started reaping the rewards of implementing e-Direct marketing over traditional marketing. The usage of e-Direct marketing will be an attractive strategy for marketers as it is cost-effective and offers better returns on investment. 

 

Introduction 

Direct marketing has been an integral part of a company’s core marketing strategies for many years, and marketers continue to execute direct marketing campagins across the globe even today. However, with the invasion of technology and increased internet connectivity, marketers have started to understand the importance of using technology-enabled direct marketing. This has resulted in the evolution of email marketing, which uses email to reach the consumer with the desired communication that creates brand awareness or drives consumer towards a purchase.

With the latest innovations in technology, e-Direct marketing has advanced to encompass wider marketing channels like mobile marketing, interactive social media, short message service (SMS), search marketing, auto phone marketing, online sales,  and analytics. It also includes email marketing, which has been synonymous with eDirect marketing.
