The cumulative investments in the Canadian oil sands sector have crossed about $100 billion over the last decade. Investments of about $364 billion are expected in the next 25 years. The monumental requirement for construction services has steadily widened the construction labor demand-supply gap. Currently an acute skill and labor shortage persists in the Canadian oil sands construction sector.
