Abstract

In the recent past, the use of pigments and coloring agents has gained immense limelight, owing to the rising awareness among the consumers regarding the chemicals used in products. Lawsuits and discussions with affected consumers on social media have already done dire damage to several global CPG brands. One such spend category that has increasingly been under the radar of regulatory bodies and end users is the pigment industry.

Pigments form an integral part in the chemistry of cosmetics and food additives, and hence understanding the current issues in the pigments value chain and preparing the product value chain for any disruption or shock is highly inevitable. This white paper would focus on addressing such issues in the pigments value chain by analyzing the alternatives, measuring cost-effectiveness, and suggesting the necessary shift in the value chain that can future proof the market share and brand value.
