ePRO New Modalities and Emerging Market
electronic Patient Reported Outcome (ePRO) is one among the software tools that is used to collect Patient details during clinical trials. ePRO are mostly used for linguistic validation process. This is the major reason for the increased focus on this tool as they are mostly handled by individuals/patients either at site or home. Traditionally, ePRO questionnaires were collected using paper and then either through Hand Held devices or Digital pens. These modalities are common in global clinical trials. As the technology has improved, the method of collecting data has also improved. The new modalities that have entered the process are SMS technology, Web based capture, and tablet. The adoption of this technology is increasing slowly. The other issue in ePRO market is the adoption of these technologies in Emerging Markets. General, adopting any new technology will be delayed in Emerging Markets when compared to Developed Market. This white paper will provide how these modalities are adopted now and in near future, and what are the challenges faced by the vendors and sponsors in implementing these modalities in Emerging Markets
